Rocky Peak is a prominent landmark located north of Strawberry Park and Old Town Steamboat Springs and south and east of the Elk River Valley near the �Hot Springs.� Most people, both tourist and local, are aware of the Hot Springs. They are a favorite location for many to visit and soak after several days of rugged skiing and recreation leaving the visitor feeling relaxed, like a �wet noodle.� I do not visit the hot springs very often but living just North West of Rocky Peak I pass by it traveling between my house and Steamboat. I often photograph it throughout the year from many vantage points finding it very alluring like many locals probably because the rocks appear magical from every geographic location the peak is visible. If hobbits do exist they certainly reside near here. It is a perfect place for hobbit dwellers. I am semi retired at this time .My Dad gave me my first camera, a brownie, at the age of 7 in 1953 after applying my talents with crayons on the walls of my hallway and creating fantastic sculptures in a sand box starting at the age of 3 as I recall. I loved life as an artist, but teachers disagreed to my chagrin. So I ended up spending much of my life as an engineer in different trades and practices.
