Description
Mount Werner and Storm Mountain, North Face. Following a spring snow storm Mt Werner reflects its radiance in an indescribable manner no words can express. It was called Storm Mountain when Buddy skinned the open glades in the aspens to capture the summit on skis. This panorama shows why many old locals from the Elk River Valley still call it Storm Mountain. This picture was created at Cullen Corners near Routt County Road 129, Steamboat Springs, Colorado , March 27, 2010. Version 2 is slightly more dramatic than Version 1 and is titled differently.
On a day like this most local skiers say, Surfs Up. It is hard to beat spring skiing in Steamboat unless one is floating in four or five feet of Champagne Powder earlier in the ski season.
