Description
Beauregard,Beau,Bo,Big Head Beau,Bobo the Snowbo Dog (a name gained do to his insatiable love of diving into deep snow chasing balls and other objects), were all names the be stowed upon this beast over the years. Unlike many labs Beau never took on many gray hairs even at 16 years of age. He is the last of six Labrador retrievers I have had in my life. They were all wonderful animals. They were all very different in personality. He was by far the most gentle and I never taught him how to hunt, though he hated coyotes. He lived on a cattle ranch for 14 years of his life and was unusually protective and respectful around calves and cows. He protected are five Arab horses yet he was very mindful of the fact they had four huffs, and he always gave them ample leeway..
Beau often posed for me starring at me with the stare captured in this portrait to get my attention even after he was too old to run or walk. He decided to pass on to doggy heaven on Valentines day 2016. It took time to make this picture composed with graphite and colored pencil.

Daniel how simply adorable. A friend of mine in Tennessee feels the same way about his labs, that is the only breed he will ever own, and they are gorgeous dogs for sure. L/F/P I can tell you had a great connection with this beautiful dog.
