Description
The weather never ceases to amaze me. The wet precipitation of late summer has given way to snow, and the last blast was not a dusting. We had a substantial dumping of 18 inches of wet snow on the early morning hours of October 4th. Large limbs were knocked down everywhere, especially in old town Steamboat Springs by unusually heavy snow. Higher elevations were spared devastation by lighter but larger accumulations. This picture was made in the late morning near Mt Werner at the 7000 elevation. The result was a beautiful yet somewhat surreal setting.
