Description
There are five species of flamingos in the world. San Diego Zoo has a flock of breeding flamingos with baby chicks at various stages of growth. I was recently able to photograph a variety of different poses containing birds of different ages. The American Flamingo display different colors depending on their diet.
Captured in February 2017 the diet of the San Diego flock has had a significant change in diet resulting a more brilliant color than those photographed last spring. The sweet light of the early morning also produced better contrast in this image.
